In between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument stands the World War II Memorial. The World War II Memorial honors the more than 16 Million who served int he armed forces of the U.S. More than 400,000 of those died and the entire Country supported the war effort by conserving on metal and buying war bonds. World War II was the defining event of the 20th century, where many of the countries of the world were involved on one level or another. The memorial was opened to the public on April 29, 2004 and was dedicated a month later on May 29th. Located on 17th Street between Constitution and Independence Avenues, the memorial covers a massive expanse that takes up the entire width of the Washington Mall.
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
