Artist's Description

This is the Watch Office at the Houston Fire Department as it would look in the 1940s. The card file on the left is a directory to look up where a given call box is when a fire is called in. The Log book would be where all activities were recorded. This Watch Office would be manned 24/7 by firefighters at the fire station. When a call came in, it would be the job of whoever was on watch to ring the bell and wake everyone up to go respond to the fire.

About David Morefield

David Morefield

By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
